New brain zapping technique could lift depression in seniors with memory loss
NCT ID NCT07188753
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new, intensive form of brain stimulation for elderly people (65 and older) who have depression that hasn't improved with medication and also have memory or thinking problems. The treatment uses magnetic pulses targeted to a specific brain area, guided by brain scans. 186 participants will receive either real or fake stimulation over 5 days, and researchers will check if their mood improves after one month.
