Brain scans may predict OCD therapy success in kids

NCT ID NCT07570108

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether brain scans can predict and track how children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) respond to a type of therapy called Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Thirty children and teens aged 10 to 17 will receive 14 weeks of ERP, plus booster sessions, and undergo regular fMRI brain scans and symptom checks over about 62 weeks. The goal is to see if patterns of brain connections can forecast treatment success, not to test a new drug or cure.
