First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study aims to understand the brain activity linked to risk-taking and reward-seeking behaviors in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will record brain signals during deep brain stimulation surgery while participants play a gambling task. The goal is to learn how certain brain areas work together, not to provide a treatment. About 75 adults scheduled for DBS surgery will take part.
