Scientists ask: is BPD really a 'Relationship Addiction'?
NCT ID NCT07337889
First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests a new idea: that borderline personality disorder (BPD) may be a form of addiction to relationships. Researchers will compare 194 people with BPD, bipolar disorder, and healthy volunteers using questionnaires and brain-related tests. The goal is to better understand BPD and reduce stigma, not to provide treatment.
