Heart failure clue found in coronary sinus blood

NCT ID NCT07436377

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at blood gas levels taken from a vein near the heart during a pacemaker-like procedure called CRT. The goal is to see if these measurements can help predict which heart failure patients will respond well to the therapy. Researchers are following 65 patients to track outcomes like hospitalizations and heart function changes.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors identify which heart failure patients are most likely to benefit from cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) before the procedure.

What could go wrong

This is a small, observational study with only 65 participants. It aims to find patterns, not test a treatment, so it may not lead to immediate changes in patient care.
