Brain cancer trial aims to stop deadly clots with common blood thinner

Summary

This study tests whether the blood thinner apixaban can safely prevent blood clots in people with newly diagnosed grade 4 glioma (a type of brain cancer). About 40 participants will take apixaban while receiving standard radiation and chemotherapy. The main goal is to check for bleeding risks and see if the drug reduces clot formation.
