NCT ID NCT07535541

First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looks at whether men with prostate cancer who have hot flashes from hormone therapy will consistently wear a smartwatch to track their symptoms. For 4 weeks, 18 participants will wear the watch, log hot flashes by pressing a button, and complete daily surveys. The goal is to see if the watch data matches what patients report in surveys, helping researchers find better ways to measure hot flashes.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that smartwatches are a reliable way to track hot flashes in real time, helping doctors better understand and manage this side effect.

What could go wrong

This is a very small feasibility study with only 18 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It does not test any treatment for hot flashes.
