First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tests a new training program called Better Conversations that helps surgeons explain treatment options more clearly to patients. Researchers will compare specialist-led training versus an automated version using audio recordings of real surgical consultations. About 580 people will take part, including surgeons, patients, and others with past surgery experience. The goal is to see if automated training can improve how surgeons share information so patients can make informed decisions.
