Surgery Drug's sugar side effect under the microscope
NCT ID NCT07573930
First seen May 17, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study watches how a standard dose of dexamethasone, a drug often given during surgery, changes blood sugar levels in 100 adults having non-cardiac operations. Participants wear a continuous glucose monitor for 10 days to track sugar levels more closely than finger-prick tests. The goal is to learn, not to change treatment. No extra drugs or procedures are given.
