First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether taking beta-glucan (a type of fiber) can help healthy women with overweight lose more body weight and fat while on a low-calorie, low-carb diet. It also checks if it reduces hunger and changes appetite-related hormones. Sixty women will be randomly assigned to get either beta-glucan or a placebo for 4 weeks, and researchers will measure weight, body fat, and appetite before and after.
