New stitch may shorten hysterectomy surgery time

NCT ID NCT06024109

First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study compares a new barbed stitch (SYMMCORA®) to a standard one for closing the vaginal cuff during laparoscopic hysterectomy. The goal is to see if the new stitch can close the area faster without causing more complications. About 132 women having elective hysterectomy will take part. The study only changes the type of stitch used, so there is no extra burden on patients.
