Knee replacement may not fully restore balance in older women
NCT ID NCT07650175
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will compare balance, walking ability, fall risk, and quality of life between postmenopausal women who have had a total knee replacement and healthy women of the same age. Researchers will test 30 women aged 60 and older using simple physical tests and a questionnaire. The goal is to understand long-term functional outcomes and help plan better rehabilitation.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help design better rehabilitation programs for women after knee replacement, improving their long-term balance and quality of life.
What could go wrong
This is a small observational study (30 participants) that has not yet started. It only measures differences, not treatment effects, so it cannot directly improve outcomes.
