Summary

This study tested a gel made from special viruses (bacteriophages) that target and kill bacteria causing diabetic foot infections. 76 adults with diabetes and a foot ulcer were treated with the gel or a placebo every other day for several weeks. The goal was to see if the gel is safe and helps heal the wound by reducing infection.
