NCT ID NCT07602036

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will test an automated insulin delivery system (the Medtronic 780G pump with continuous glucose monitoring) in 20 pregnant women with type 2 diabetes. Participants join before 16 weeks of pregnancy and use the device until delivery. The main goal is to see how much time their blood sugar stays in a safe range (63-140 mg/dL). Researchers will also track overall glucose control and health outcomes for mothers and newborns.

Active substance
Medtronic 780G automated insulin delivery system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that automated insulin pumps help pregnant women with type 2 diabetes maintain safer blood sugar levels, potentially improving health for both mother and baby.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 20 participants and no comparison group, so results may not apply widely. The device may not perform as well in pregnancy as hoped.
