Summary

This study tested whether adding atorvastatin (a cholesterol-lowering drug) to standard mesalamine treatment improves quality of life and reduces inflammation in adults with ulcerative colitis. 54 participants completed the trial. The goal was to see if the drug's anti-inflammatory effects could help control the disease without needing stronger medications.
