People admitted for acute coronary syndrome, which includes heart attacks and unstable angina, face a higher risk of dangerous heart rhythms such as sustained ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. Patients aged 18 years or older with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) (ST-elevation myocardial infarction, non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction, and unstable angina pectoris) or out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) due to ACS, admitted to the emergency cardiac care unit, emergency department, coronary care unit (CCU), intensive care unit (ICU), or cardiology ward.
