First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests whether the blood thinner apixaban can safely dissolve blood clots in the portal vein that form more than a year after spleen surgery in people with cirrhosis. The study will enroll 20 participants and measure how many achieve complete or partial clot resolution. The goal is to control the disease and prevent complications, not to cure the underlying cirrhosis.
