First seen May 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looked back at medical records of 397 patients who had surgery for a broken shinbone (tibia) using either an antibiotic-coated or a standard uncoated titanium nail. The goal was to see if the coated nail reduced infections and improved bone healing. Researchers also checked patient satisfaction and took X-rays in some cases. The study is complete and helps doctors understand which nail type works better.
