Could a smart device at home tame Post-Surgery pain and prevent chronic pain?

NCT ID NCT07680998

First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a telemonitoring device called ANTALGEEK® that helps people manage acute pain at home after outpatient surgery. The device tracks pain levels and guides medication use, aiming to improve recovery and lower the risk of chronic pain. About 150 adults having surgery that causes moderate to severe pain will be randomly assigned to use the device or receive standard care. The main goal is to see if the device leads to better quality of recovery in the first week after surgery.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
ANTALGEEK® Thess telemonitoring device
What this could lead to
If effective, this device could help people recover better after surgery by managing pain at home, reducing the risk of long-term pain and opioid misuse.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early proof-of-concept study, so results may not apply broadly. The device may not improve recovery or pain control compared to standard care.
