Ultrasound may help Alzheimer's drugs reach the brain
NCT ID NCT06585384
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage study tests whether a combination of an anti-inflammatory drug (etanercept) and repeated ultrasound can safely open the blood-brain barrier in people with mild Alzheimer's disease. The goal is to let more medication reach the brain. Only 5 participants will be enrolled to check for side effects. This is a safety trial, not a test of whether the treatment works.
