Summary
This study tracks 210 people with COPD over 4 years to see how bacteria and other microbes in the airways relate to lung function decline. Researchers collect fluid from the lungs during a bronchoscopy and analyze the microbial DNA. The goal is to understand why COPD gets worse in some people, not to test a new drug.
