AI eye on skin cancer: could smart imaging cut surgery time?
NCT ID NCT07358637
First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether an artificial intelligence tool, combined with a special camera (OCT), can accurately find the edges of common skin cancers before surgery. About 30 adults with a type of skin cancer called basal cell carcinoma will have their tumors scanned. If the AI works well, it might help surgeons remove the cancer in fewer steps, saving time and money.
