AI-Powered watch ECG may spot hidden heart failure early

NCT ID NCT07488052

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study is testing whether an artificial intelligence program can analyze a single-lead ECG from devices like the Apple Watch to detect low heart pumping function (ejection fraction) and other heart structure problems. Researchers will enroll 5,000 adults at five hospitals in Taiwan and compare the AI's results with standard echocardiograms. If accurate, this could allow people to screen for heart failure at home without a doctor visit.
