First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looks at whether common heart medications called beta blockers (propranolol and metoprolol) cause older adults to get hotter during extreme heat exposure. Researchers will measure body temperature and sweat rate in 22 healthy adults aged 65 and older over 3 hours in a hot environment. The goal is to understand if these drugs increase heat-related risks in aging populations.
