First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study is testing the Aeson total artificial heart, a device that replaces both heart ventricles, in 95 people with severe heart failure. The goal is to confirm that the device works safely and effectively as a bridge to heart transplant. Researchers will measure survival rates and quality of life before transplant.

What this could lead to
If successful, this device could provide a reliable temporary replacement heart for people waiting for a transplant, improving survival and quality of life.
