NCT ID NCT07278531

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a personalized diet plan, guided by a continuous glucose monitor (CGM), can help Chinese and Vietnamese Americans with type 2 diabetes better control their blood sugar. 120 participants will either receive the adaptive diet program or standard care for 12 weeks, followed by 12 weeks of follow-up. The program starts with just the CGM, and if blood sugar doesn't improve, adds culturally tailored dietary coaching.

What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could offer a practical, culturally tailored way for Asian Americans with type 2 diabetes to better manage their blood sugar without extra medication.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early feasibility study (120 people) that primarily measures recruitment and retention, not long-term health outcomes. The intervention is complex and may not work for everyone.
