First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a treatment called acupuncture-like Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) could improve quality of life and bowel habits in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The study planned to enroll 30 adults with IBS, but was terminated early. The approach uses mild electrical pulses on the skin, similar to acupuncture but without needles, to try to ease symptoms.
