Acupuncture may cut hospital time for chemo patients

NCT ID NCT06500715

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding acupuncture to standard care can lower the risk of hospital stays for a serious chemo side effect called febrile neutropenia (fever with low white blood cells). About 60 adults with sarcoma receiving doxorubicin chemotherapy will be randomly assigned to get acupuncture during some cycles and not others. The goal is to see if acupuncture reduces hospital time and improves quality of life.
