Gentle touch, big relief: acupressure boosts sleep and hope in seniors
NCT ID NCT07435246
First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at whether acupressure—a gentle, non-needle technique—can improve sleep, quality of life, and feelings of hopelessness in older adults living in a nursing home. Fifty people aged 65 and older took part; half received acupressure three times a week for four weeks, while the other half received usual care. Researchers measured changes using standard questionnaires and found that acupressure may be a safe, drug-free way to support well-being in aging populations.
