Experimental immune therapy targets deadly childhood brain cancers

NCT ID NCT03334305

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study tested a new treatment for children with high-grade gliomas, a very aggressive type of brain tumor. The approach used the patient's own tumor to create a vaccine and special immune cells (T-cells) to help the body fight the cancer. The main goal was to see if this treatment was safe and could boost the immune system against the tumor. The study was stopped early, but results from the 5 participants who received treatment help guide future research.
