Experimental immune therapy for childhood brain cancer shows early safety signals

NCT ID NCT03334305

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase study tested whether a personalized vaccine made from a child's own tumor could train their immune system to fight high-grade gliomas. The treatment involved giving back activated immune cells (T-cells) and dendritic cell vaccines after chemotherapy. Only 5 children received the therapy before the study was stopped early, but researchers were able to check for safety and immune responses.
