New MRI technique reveals hidden tendon changes in arthritis patients
NCT ID NCT03287596
First seen May 22, 2026 ยท Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study used a special MRI technique to create detailed maps of the cartilage where the Achilles tendon meets the heel bone. Researchers compared 121 healthy volunteers and patients with a type of arthritis called spondyloarthropathy (SpA) to see if the MRI could detect tendon differences. The goal was to better understand tendon problems in arthritis, not to test a treatment.
