NCT ID NCT05645575
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a faster, personalized version of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is safe and feasible for inpatients with major depressive disorder. Thirty participants will receive up to 25 TMS sessions over two weeks, with the frequency tailored to their individual brain rhythms. The goal is to see if this approach can ease depression symptoms more quickly than standard TMS.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a faster, more personalized TMS treatment for severe depression.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early pilot study with only 30 participants and no control group. Results may not apply to everyone, and the treatment may not work better than standard TMS.
