NCT ID NCT07352449

First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked at whether one session of classical abdominal massage can improve blood vessel stiffness, muscle oxygen levels, and exercise ability in adults with chronic constipation. Thirty participants were randomly assigned to receive either the massage or a placebo (rest period). Researchers measured artery stiffness, muscle oxygenation, exercise capacity, and quality of life before and after the session. The goal was to see if massage offers short-term benefits beyond just relieving constipation.
