New hope for giant cell arteritis: abatacept trial underway

Summary
This study tests whether the drug abatacept can help people with giant cell arteritis, a condition that causes inflamed blood vessels. About 78 adults with newly diagnosed or relapsing disease will receive either abatacept or a placebo. The goal is to see if the drug can keep the disease under control and improve quality of life.
