New scanner could sharpen view of hidden artery inflammation

NCT ID NCT07628075

First seen Jun 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 06, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new, more sensitive PET/CT scanner (LAFOV) to see if it can detect blood vessel inflammation more clearly in people with large vessel vasculitis. Researchers will compare scans from 18 patients and healthy volunteers to develop a standard imaging protocol. The goal is to improve diagnosis and monitoring, potentially reducing the need for high-dose medications.
