Serotonin receptor may be key to unlocking MS mysteries

NCT ID NCT05746845

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether a specific serotonin receptor, called 5-HT7, could be used as a biomarker for multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers measured the receptor on different blood cells from 100 people, including those with MS and healthy volunteers. The goal was to better understand the immune system changes in MS, not to test a new treatment.
