First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at whether the 4-7-8 breathing technique can help reduce pain, nausea, and vomiting in people who just had bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. Sixty adults were split into two groups: one practiced the breathing exercise every hour, and the other received standard care. Researchers measured their pain and nausea levels at several points during the first 24 hours after surgery.
