NCT ID NCT06439121

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a calming breathing pattern called the 4-7-8 technique can help people feel less pain and nausea after bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. Sixty adults were split into two groups: one practiced the breathing exercise every hour after surgery, while the other received standard care. Researchers tracked their pain, nausea, and vomiting over 24 hours to see if the breathing technique made a difference.
