ER-based program aims to save young lives from suicide

Summary

This study tests whether a special suicide prevention program, started in the emergency department, can reduce suicide attempts and repeat hospital visits in high-risk teens. About 330 youth aged 12-17 who come to the ER with suicidal thoughts or behaviors will take part. The program involves both the teen and their family, and is compared to standard care.
