Kidney patients get a guide: navigators may boost transplant access

NCT ID NCT00805038

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether trained transplant recipients, called navigators, could help kidney failure patients complete the steps needed to get a kidney transplant. About 167 adults on dialysis took part, with some receiving navigator help and others usual care. The goal was to see if navigators could reduce barriers and improve access to transplantation.
