Brain zap breakthrough: new tech could personalize PTSD treatment

NCT ID NCT05916417

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a new technology combining brain stimulation (TMS) with brain imaging (fNIRS) can directly measure brain activity to personalize treatment dosing for people with PTSD, with or without mild traumatic brain injury. About 60 adults aged 18-70 who are eligible for TMS therapy will participate. The goal is to replace the current indirect method of dosing, which may be less accurate.
