Brain scans could make TMS therapy more precise for PTSD and TBI

NCT ID NCT05916417

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a new technology combining brain stimulation (TMS) with brain imaging (fNIRS) can better personalize treatment dosing for people with PTSD, with or without mild traumatic brain injury. Researchers will measure brain activity directly to replace the current indirect method, which may lead to incorrect dosing. The study involves 60 adults aged 18-70 who are eligible for TMS therapy.
