Ear clip trial aims to speed recovery in brain ICU

NCT ID NCT07219108

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle electrical stimulation delivered through a clip on the ear can help patients recover faster in the neurological intensive care unit (NeuroICU). The stimulation targets a major nerve and aims to reduce serious complications like infections and the need for breathing tubes. Researchers will compare real stimulation to a sham treatment in 160 critically ill patients to see if it shortens hospital stays and lowers costs.
