Ear-Zapping device could slash ICU infections and hospital bills

Summary
This study is testing whether gently stimulating a nerve in the ear can help patients with serious brain injuries or strokes recover better in the neurological intensive care unit (NeuroICU). Researchers want to see if this non-invasive treatment reduces infections, shortens hospital stays, and lowers medical costs. About 160 patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the real stimulation or a sham treatment during their hospital stay.
