New hope for teens: counseling program aims to tackle suicide risk in HIV-Positive youth
NCT ID NCT06770101
Summary
This study is testing whether a counseling program called 'Friendship Bench + Safety Planning' can help reduce suicidal thoughts and improve engagement with HIV care for teenagers living with HIV in Malawi. Researchers will enroll 60 depressed teens who have reported suicidal thoughts and randomly assign them to either receive the counseling program or standard care. The main goal is to see if the program is practical, acceptable, and shows early signs of being helpful before launching a larger trial.
