Poor sleep before breast cancer surgery linked to worse pain and inflammation

NCT ID NCT07547774

First seen Apr 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study is observing 150 women scheduled for breast cancer surgery to see if their sleep quality before the operation can predict how much pain and inflammation they will have afterward. Participants will fill out a sleep questionnaire, and researchers will track their pain levels and painkiller use for 24 hours after surgery. The goal is to understand if poor sleep leads to a tougher recovery, which could help doctors prepare patients better in the future.
