First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares two types of minimally invasive gum surgery for people with advanced periodontitis (gum disease) that has caused bone loss. Fifty adults will be randomly assigned to receive either a single-flap or double-flap surgical technique. Researchers will measure gum pocket depth, bone healing, and patient comfort over 12 months to see which approach leads to better outcomes.
