New 3D heart scan could improve care for kids born with one ventricle

NCT ID NCT05262907

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study is testing a new 3D ultrasound technique to see if it can accurately measure heart size and pumping ability in children and young adults born with a single ventricle (one pumping chamber). About 100 participants will get a standard heart ultrasound and/or MRI, and the new method will be compared to those results. The goal is to find a simpler, safer way to monitor these patients over time.
