New hope for brittle bones after spinal cord injury: monthly shots show promise

Summary

This study tested whether a monthly injection called romosozumab can improve bone health in women with chronic spinal cord injury and osteoporosis. Twelve women received the injections for one year, followed by a year of weekly alendronate pills. The goal was to see if the treatment could increase bone density and reduce fracture risk.
