50-Patient trial checks if muscle drug fades fast enough for nerve monitoring

NCT ID NCT05126108

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looked at 50 adults having thyroid or parathyroid surgery to see if a muscle relaxant called rocuronium wears off quickly enough to allow nerve monitoring during the operation. Doctors used the drug to make intubation easier, then checked if the nerves recovered in time for safe surgery. The goal was to improve patient safety without interfering with the nerve monitor.
