Eye camera spots hidden inflammation in MS patients

NCT ID NCT04289909

First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study used a special eye camera (adaptive optics) to look at blood vessel inflammation in the retina of 50 people with multiple sclerosis (MS). The goal was to see if these changes happen early in the disease and differ between MS types. Participants had one eye exam at the start and two follow-ups over 6 months. The study did not test any treatment, only observed and measured inflammation.
